Archive for August 2011On Board Diagnostics for Bloomington MotoristsPosted August 31, 2011 1:00 AMSome Bloomington vehicle owners wonder why AutoChoice Service Center Inc. and other Bloomington auto repair shops charge a fee for vehicle diagnostics. Receiving a diagnostic charge at AutoChoice Service Center Inc. for a tricky automotive problem shouldn't be a surprise. In the Bloomington area, automotive diagnostics can cover quite a range. If you hear a noise in your vehicle brakes when you slow down in rush-hour traffic on a busy Indiana road, you pull off at the next off-ramp and take a quick visual check. That is usually enough to know what needs to be done. If you're having an intermittent problem with your vehicle engine, however, a AutoChoice Service Center Inc. diagnosis may be much more involved. There's a common misconception among Indiana drivers that the trouble code tells the AutoChoice Service Center Inc. technician exactly what's wrong. They wonder why there is a diagnostic charge because the scanner quickly gave the diagnosis. In reality, it is not that easy and straightforward. The computer monitors many sensors throughout the vehicle. When one of these sensors has a reading that's out of parameters, the computer will record a trouble code and turn on the Check Engine light. Some diagnoses are quick and easy. Others are more involved, time-consuming and difficult. Of course AutoChoice Service Center Inc. wants to figure out what's wrong with your vehicle and get you back on the road as quickly as possible. AutoChoice Service Center Inc. Tracking True in Indiana : Wheel Alignment in BloomingtonPosted August 25, 2011 10:00 AMThe biggest issue for Bloomington area drivers is always safety. When your vehicle wheels are out of alignment, the vehicle will pull to one side, which could lead to an accident. When you're vehicle is out of alignment, you should have it taken care of right away at AutoChoice Service Center Inc. in Bloomington. When undergoing an alignment service at AutoChoice Service Center Inc., your vehicle is put on an alignment rack where the tires, steering and suspension parts are checked for damage. Then the alignment is charted and checked against the factory settings. Obviously, a big jolt can seriously knock things out of alignment, but Bloomington area drivers also need to understand that a series of smaller ones can add up. That's why we recommend periodic alignment checks. If your vehicle owner's manual doesn't specify the interval, once a year might be appropriate. Or check with a service advisor at AutoChoice Service Center Inc. in Bloomington. AutoChoice Service Center Inc.
Fuel Injector Cleaning at AutoChoice Service Center Inc.Posted August 19, 2011 12:00 PMIn very simple terms, a fuel injector is a valve that squirts fuel into your vehicle engine. Your engine control computer tells the fuel injector how much fuel to deliver as well as the precise time it should be delivered. Of course this happens thousands of times a minute in every single fuel-injected vehicle driving down Bloomington roads. A few have recently introduced gas direct injection systems on some engines. They are now available at some Indiana dealerships. These systems inject the gas directly into the cylinders under very high pressure – many times the pressure of port injection systems. Although more complicated, direct injection technology promises greater power with improved fuel economy. Indiana motorists can expect to see more of it in the future. Your technician at AutoChoice Service Center Inc. can perform a fuel system service for you in which the fuel injectors are cleaned so that they operate properly and deliver the right amount of fuel at the right time. Proper maintenance of your vehicle fuel system means that you will spend less on gas, enjoy strong performance and prevent repair bills down the road. AutoChoice Service Center Inc. Keep Your Cool in Bloomington: Air Conditioning ServicesPosted August 12, 2011 10:00 AM
Most Bloomington drivers don't even think about their air conditioner. Now here's a tip for Bloomington vehicle owners: Run your air conditioner every so often during Indiana winters. This circulates the lubricant to help keep the seals from drying out. The air conditioner actually removes some of the moisture in the air. So if you have trouble with fogging on your vehicle windshield during Indiana winters or during a rain storm, running the A/C on the defrost setting should help. Now on some Bloomington cars you can't run the A/C at the same time as the defroster. Don't ask me why, but I suspect lawyers were involved. AutoChoice Service Center Inc. | ||

I had my car in a while back for brake work and once again I was extremely pleased with Auto Choice. They are professional and honest (a rare combination) and I know that the work will be done correctly. I drive a Subaru and I completely trust my technician Jake to diagnose and expertly correct any issues that come up. I definitely will be back the next time I need anything car related. Thank you Jake and Auto Choice! Cathy Kinsman, 04/17/2024 |
My son attends IU and his older car needed an urgent repair. The nature of the repair made it impossible for him to drive the car home and have our usual shop work on his car. Trust is a big issue when choosing a repair shop. The team at AutoChoice Service was professional and thorough in making their recommendations. They advised what repairs were urgent and what items could be delayed for the time being. Their quote was fair and detailed. The job was completed on time. I highly recommend AutoChoice. Brought my car in thinking it was burning oil, because that's what Jd Byrider told me. They fixed 3k worth of things within a week. So glad I decided to get a second opinion, will definitely be going here from now on since I know now they take my warranty! Also fixed whatever was causing it to pull to the left, Bell Tire couldn't even do that. 10/10 recommend. Kali Allen, 03/28/2024 |
