Archive for February 2010Tire Maintenance in BloomingtonPosted February 25, 2010 12:00 PMWith the recent focus in the Bloomington area on improving fuel economy, we've been told how important it is to maintain our tire pressure. Stop by AutoChoice Service Center Inc. to see about tire maintenance for your vehicle. AutoChoice Service Center Inc. Every vehicle in the Bloomington area has a sticker on the driver's side door jamb that tells you the vehicle manufacture's recommended tire pressure. This recommendation is an integral part of the vehicle's suspension tuning. A lot of engineering actually goes into the recommended tire pressure, so it's important for drivers to follow it. For most vehicles, front tires are rotated to the rear and vice versa. Others recommend a cross rotational pattern. Some vehicles use an asymmetrical tire so those tires need to stay on either the right or left side – it'll say which on the tire. Some high performance cars have asymmetrical tires and different sizes on the front and rear. These can't be rotated at all. Your owner's manual will have details for your vehicle or ask your service advisor at AutoChoice Service Center Inc.. The team at AutoChoice Service Center Inc. also wants to remind you that it is important to always use the same size tire on an axle. Different size tires on the front or on the back can lead to some real handling problems. And tire manufacturers recommend that when you get two new tires, they be installed on the rear because that's where you need the most traction to avoid spinning out.
When Are Your Tires Worn Out?Posted February 16, 2010 2:00 AM
Hey Bloomington area drivers, are your tires worn out? What is the standard for our Indiana streets? How can you tell on your vehicle?
So what happened with the 2/32 inch/1.6 mm tires on the car? Get this – when the car had traveled the distance required to stop with new tires, it was still going 55 mph/89 kph. Stopping distance was nearly doubled to 379 feet/116 meters, and it took 5.9 seconds. AutoChoice Service Center Inc.

I had my car in a while back for brake work and once again I was extremely pleased with Auto Choice. They are professional and honest (a rare combination) and I know that the work will be done correctly. I drive a Subaru and I completely trust my technician Jake to diagnose and expertly correct any issues that come up. I definitely will be back the next time I need anything car related. Thank you Jake and Auto Choice! Cathy Kinsman, 04/17/2024 |
My son attends IU and his older car needed an urgent repair. The nature of the repair made it impossible for him to drive the car home and have our usual shop work on his car. Trust is a big issue when choosing a repair shop. The team at AutoChoice Service was professional and thorough in making their recommendations. They advised what repairs were urgent and what items could be delayed for the time being. Their quote was fair and detailed. The job was completed on time. I highly recommend AutoChoice. Brought my car in thinking it was burning oil, because that's what Jd Byrider told me. They fixed 3k worth of things within a week. So glad I decided to get a second opinion, will definitely be going here from now on since I know now they take my warranty! Also fixed whatever was causing it to pull to the left, Bell Tire couldn't even do that. 10/10 recommend. Kali Allen, 03/28/2024 |
